Poultry and Rabbit Exemption
An exemption can be obtained for the slaughter and processing of poultry and rabbits.
- The exemption is effective for a period of two years, unless revoked.
- There is a limit of 5000 animals slaughtered and processed per calendar year.
- Products must be marked with farm name, address, and the statement "not inspected".
- Products can only be purchased and picked up at the location where exemption has been granted.
- Exempted products can NOT be sold at Farmer's Markets or to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The exempted products may only be sold to the end consumer.
