Veterinary Feed Directive
On June 3, 2015, the FDA published the final rule pertaining to the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD). This final rule became effective on October 1, 2015. Effective January 1, 2017, those entities regulated by this final rule are expected to be in compliance with the provisions of the rule. The information below is being provided to assist interested/affected entities in understanding what the rule means and how to comply with the rule. Specific questions pertaining to the rule, compliance with the rule, and enforcement of the rule should be directed to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
