Prairie Farms Partners with General Mills to Donate Food

Prairie Farms Rockford partnered with General Mills in Belividere to hand out over 70,000 cartons of milk and cereal for 42,000 bowls at Northern Illinois Food Bank – Feeding America on March 20th and 21st. A drive-through distribution point was set up on the parking lot to hand out pre-boxed cereal and milk donations to the community free of charge. Left overs from the weekend distribution were donated to surrounding food pantries to help feed the community during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Illinois agriculture industry has been making immediate impact on food shortages caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. The Illinois Department of Agriculture would like to thank all Illinois food and agribusiness companies for their role in supporting Illinois communities.
